Nice post but why did they have to make rain? Did this occur during the dry season?

When mum was with us and we needed help with her wheelchair, I always tipped the tuk tuks because they did go out of their way. Now that the fare has gone up from 80 baht to a 100 baht, I don't tip either. And you're right. I tip in a restaurant when the food and service are worthy. If they have a service charge, I generally don't tip. Thanks for your words of advise though. It helps to know someone else's thinking on the subject.

I never tip tuk tuks as they over charge by so much anyway, I will tip motorbike taxis though if they havent tried to rip me off initially.

Will only tip in a restaurant if the food and service have been worthy and never tip at hotels that have service charge - they're already taking their tip without asking!

Personal service such as massage, caddy, haircut etc always get a tip.

Any idea if they have Imax in the Hua Hin cinema? I haven't been for ten years or so but would definitely give it a go for these special effects (as long as I didn't have to travel to Bangkok!).

hi ,at the moment i live in jomtien near pattaya and i have been down to hua hin several times now and intend to move there possibly in the near future.i have noticed coffee shops and restaurants tend to all close up by midnight and nightlife comes to a halt.on a brighter note there appears to be zero crime when compared to pattaya?look forward to any views and comments, good and otherwise..over and out..john

I agree totally with your article Buksida, ''litter'' I would say is my pet hate and I almost become nauseous when I see our planet being abused like this, whether it be a pristine beach or an inner city area. I have also noticed that the practice of ''dumping'' rubbish in any freespace in Hua Hin is quite prevalent e.g beside the rail tracks, etc.

A real wake-up call is required before it is too late!!

years ago I discovered Haad Sai Noi and many times it was possible to be alone on the beach. It was for me allways the reason to come back to Hua Hin. But now they build up so many things.....that scary me ....
